Expense Tracker (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values your trust. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application (“App”) and related services.

When you use Expense Tracker, we may collect the following information:
- Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number.
- Device & App Data: IP address, device identifiers, operating system, app version, and usage patterns.
- Device (Push Notification) Token: To send you notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). When you install or open the App, a unique device token is generated for your device. We store this token on our secure servers along with a user identifier (your account ID, or a randomly generated ID if you are not signed in), your device platform (Android or iOS), and the App version.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- Send important notifications, reminders, alerts, and account updates. The device token is used only to deliver these notifications to your device. We do not use it for advertising or sell it.
- Sync your data across devices, where you choose to use cloud sync.
- Prevent fraud and unauthorized use, and ensure security.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal data. However, we may share information with:
- Service Providers: Such as Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) for delivering notifications, analytics, crash reporting, and data storage. Your device token is shared with Google only for the purpose of delivering notifications.
- Regulatory Authorities: As required by law or government agencies.
- In Case of Merger/Acquisition: Your data may be transferred to the new entity.
4. Data Security
We use encryption, secure servers, and strict access controls to protect your information. However, no electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information as long as necessary to provide the App’s services or comply with legal obligations. Device tokens are kept only while needed to send notifications, and are deleted when you uninstall the App, when the token becomes invalid, or when you request deletion. Once data is no longer required, it is securely deleted.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and review your personal data.
- Request correction or deletion of your data, including your device token.
- Withdraw consent for optional permissions (such as notifications or SMS access) at any time through your device settings.
- Contact us for any privacy concerns.
7. Third-Party Links & Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies separately.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
